Jane Taylor Millinery Year Summary

Hello,

I’m embarrassed to say that it’s been over a year since my last posting, I hope you’ve all been well. During that time it’s been a busy year for me and to prove it, I will be summarising the highlights of 2010/ 2011.

First off in March 2010, I was fortunate enough to meet The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace. The event was celebrating the British Clothing Industry; there I was among the best British designers and models including Manolo Blahnik, Zhandra Rhodes, Alice Temperley, Twiggy, Erin O’Conner and Hannah Marshall.

As you may have seen, my designs have been featured in some publications:

ES Magazine.

Tatler

YOU

Harpers Bazaar

…and the Holy Grail of fashion, VOGUE (UK, India and Turkey).

I was also interviewed by Ella Alexander for UK VOGUE.

Click here to read my debut interview on vogue.com about my ready to wear line with Lisa Niven.

Besides having my designs featured in the glossys, some famous faces have also been seen wearing my designs.

In July 2010, the singer and actress – Paloma Faith wore the gold bow cocktail hat on a shoot with Harpers Bazaar.

And again, Paloma wore a fascinator for another shoot with Closer magazine.

At last year’s Royal Ascot, TV presenter Suzi Pery and fashion journalist James Sherwood briefly interviewed me and commented on my designs.

And finally, my hats and head pieces are available exclusively at Harrods, both in store and online at http://www.harrods.com/brand/janetaylor-millinery

These are some which will be available at Harrods so please do go and have a look for yourself.

As you can see, it’s been a very hectic but also exhilarating time for me. I can’t believe it’s been a year already so keep on reading to stay updated.

Love Jane.

These images are from this months Asiana Magazine shot in Mauritius by Alexandre Pichon. The beautiful embellished churidar are designed by Sache. This is another shoot I would have loved to have gone on!

The next few posts are from the past eighteen months. Let me now what you think.

This beret was covered in hand stitched crystal droplets which took me 10 hours to complete! The piece was commissioned by Faye Sawyer the stylist at X Factor for Diane Vickers X Factor finalist in December 08. I also made the silk flat cap for JLS.

I loved working with the dress designer Suzanne Neville and Alesha Dixion during the fittings for Alesha Dixion's video 'Breath Slow'. I created a sparkling crystal show girl piece on band for the shoot in Las Vegas.

Why do I not get asked along on these shoots? 'Love in Venice' was featured in the December issue of Cosmopolitan Brides. The model wore an Ian Stuart dress and my Art Deco vintage style headpiece that can be bought online.

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite children stories and when Brides magazine asked me to make them a piece for this shoot, I jumped at the chance.
The band was made from silk, lace crowns and a leather red heart. I had so much fun with this 1950 styles bridal band.

Sent all my blue piece to NY for this shoot for Your Wedding Day (US Wedding magazine) for their 'Something Blue' shoot. I love the setting of this shoot.
